A toolbox for everyone?

I was reading a slightly older (previously presumed lost) copy of GoodWoodworking earlier today and noticed the section about it’s website. I had previously taken a look around the website (it’s taken a long time and a new owner to really get one) but had found it fairly basic and bare – however, I re-visited today and was surprised to find what appears to be a wealth of information and articles… although I’m a little confused to see full articles out of the latest magazine free for all to read, particularly as my subscription copy only hit the floor about 2 days ago!
Anyway, there is some very interesting stuff, particularly as they’re playing with short video casts – however the thing that really caught my eye was a written article about making a toolbox
This reminded me of the toolbox my father had (I still have it, but it’s unused in the loft) that I used to think was really special and made of hardwood – until I started to clean it up and realised it was using the very basic materials (plywood) as mentioned in the article.
Since I’ve got interested in woodworking I’d always thought I would have a go at making a replica toolbox to my fathers, and although the one in the article is different in design, I think I may well give it a go – it’ll go with my new-found enthusiasm for hand-tools. (and in this case, storing them)
The article/directions look easy to follow and as it’s made out of readily available material should be straightforward to accomplish – so much so that it could indeed be a toolbox for everyone! or at least everyone who wants to make a toolbox like this ;-)
If you missed it before, the article is here
and I highly recommend you check out the improved GoodWoodworking website – getwoodworking.com
