Simple, Scalable Deployment with BDD 2007

Amongst the mass of work I have at the moment, I’m looking at upgrading my companies implementation of BDD (Business Deployment Desktop) from BDD 2007 to MDT 2008 (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit), which will bring some benefits and officially support the deployment of servers through this technology.

In talking with one of the main engineers who manages the environment, I discovered that he was concerned about the scalability of the setup (we run a multi-site, multi-country infrastructure) and so we are keen to improve the overall availability and deployment of systems using this. We also utilise DFS (Distributed File Share) heavily for user directories and core software libraries but have not yet tied it together with BDD. I am presuming it will work pretty much the same with MDT2008, but still need to confirm that…
