I came across this useful resource whilst spec’ing up some new servers for my employer – I needed to refer to this because I had not come into contact with “Nearline SAS” devices before and someone else in the organisation had suggested them….

I mostly work with data stores and servers that are Fibre channel connected, although my home setup uses iSCSI, however, I see the take-off of iSCSI increasing, particularly with virtualisation and so this article is useful to help configure iSCSI on a Dell R805 (the company I work at is just in the process of purchasing some of these boxes). I found this linked on Dell’s community forum today, it’s a short introduction to iSCSI usage, particularly in a virtualised environment.
