I’m just getting my hands dirty with the replacement to the Business Desktop Deployment tool (BDD) that Microsoft has just recently released into the wild – now known as the Microsoft Deployment Tollkit (MDT 2008).

I found this linked on Dell’s community forum today, it’s a short introduction to iSCSI usage, particularly in a virtualised environment.

I’ve been meaning to write about this software for some months now, and it’s taken a failure of my hard disk to do so (It took me ages to remember the name of the thing, so I can re-download and install)

Almost quite by accident, I have found a couple of Dell resources that are useful as far as running VMware on Dell equipment is concerned.

As I’m in the process of setting up a VMware environment at work, I am more concerned about being able to view the state of the physical hardware that runs it – disk failures need to be detected as soon as they happen rather than after the second disk in the RAID5 array fails (and you lose everything!)…

Looking through vmetc’s website I came across an older post that discusses the best practice configuration for VMware host partitions – it’s a good read and very useful.
